A thrilling head-to-head race and kids happy to get a first taste

4th ITH-Hennesee-Triathlon a great success / Positive feedback from athletes

Will he succeed again? Three-time ITH-Hennesee-Triathlon-Champion Frederik Martin.

More than 250 athletes from all over Germany, pleased promoters and a great atmosphere created by many cheering spectators: The 4th ITH-Hennesee-Triathlon 2011 was a complete success. „Especially the Kid’s Triathlon couldn’t have been“, says Horst Bornemann, athletic consultant and member of the co-organizers TriFun Hennesee triathlon club.

Glimpsing a beautiful view of the Hennesee (Lake Henne) in Meschede the girls and boys between 8 and 12 years opened the sportive highlight right time at 1.00 PM. After the starting signal was given by Meschede’s mayor Uli Hess the joyful kids dove into the waters of pleasant 20° Celsius. 25 meters of swimming were followed by a 1.5-kilometer-cycling-track and a 400-meter-running-distance. The kids enjoyed strong support from their parents and other onlookers. The fastest two, Leonie Schake and Philipp Kilz, proundly received their champion’s trophies from ITH CEO Frank Hohmann. “You all did a fantastic job“, Frank Hohmann praised the performance of all participants and handed a medal and a finisher’s certificate to each of the happy youngsters. “We wanted the kids to take their first steps in the triathlon sport“, Markus Franz, City of Meschede Marketing Manager, explained. “It was very well received. We are going to expand the kid’s triathlon in the next year. Expanding the familiar of the event is important to us“.

Round about 400 guests and 34 international sales partners from all over the world celebrated the 30 years anniversary of the machine-builder ITH at the company headquarter in Enste on Saturday with a large celebration and a day of open house. Before for this the traditional „ITH Bolting Day” took place. Under the slogan „30 Years of innovation“ the international ITH agents have been informed about the current economic situation in the market, about accomplished projects and about technical innovations.

ITH symposia „Bolting Days“ are going to the next round: The motto of “Bolting Day 2008” on Friday, 4th September 2008 at the ITH headqaters in Meschede, Germany will be all about “Information, Innovation & Ideas” related to bolting technology. The latest technical developments and scientific papers are mediated to business partners.

On Sunday, 31st August 2008 the first ITH-Hennesee-Triathlon will take place around lake Hennesee, located in nature park Homert and very close to Meschede, the headquaters of ITH GmbH & Co. KG. Take part in this challenging sports event or enjoy a relaxing day within the natural beauty of Sauerland-region.

With BOLTING DAYS ITH informs customers about innovations in Bolting Methods, Bolting Process, Bolting Tools and Connection Elements. Customized for specific customers or mixed groups, new information on technology and academic studies are presented by guest speakers and ITH engineers.

At the VDI conference on bolt connections in October 2005 in Dresden, Professor Lori of the University of Zwickau and ITH manager Frank Hohmann gave a joint lecture on the studies carried out by ITH and the university about:
"Hydraulic tensioning free of friction and torsion – pre-tensioning losses and their influence".
The tests showed that at a given grip-length ratio, it is possible to use a α_A value* of 1.1 with the ITH round nut type RMS/RMZ.
* α_A value = maximum pre-tensioning force in relation to minimum pre-tensioning force (α_A = F_Mmax / F_Mmin)

Cologne, Germany. On the occasion of the Pope's visit to Cologne, ITH tools were used to assemble the stage structure known popularly as the "pope's cloud". One bolt-tensioning cylinder and 120 special bolts were all that was needed to give the specially designed 60-ton structure the stability it required.(see VDI Article / WP Regiona section )
